As expected with the algorithm changes that Facebook made earlier this year, business pages have seen their organic reach take a nosedive and many of us are willing to try whatever it takes to fix this. Recently, Facebook business page users received emails stating that the company was pushing its template options now more than ever, which hopefully could help your engagement woes.
You may have missed this email in your inbox, possibly skimming right over it since we’ve all gotten so many from Facebook this year already. So here’s what you need to know about the new Services Template and what it means for your business.
Business templates are a way to customize the layout of your business’s Facebook page, emphasizing the points of conversion that are most important to your industry. For example, if you really want potential clients to get in touch with your office, you can make the “Call Now” button front and center. Making it as easy as possible for users and businesses to connect is the goal here.
If you’ve been at this for a while, you know that these options aren’t new but using them is of peak importance right now. That’s why Facebook is automatically switching most business pages to this model as of August 24.
The services template is not the only option you have though, your other choices include: business, venues, movies, nonprofit, politicians, shopping, and more. Ultimately, you have complete control of what you want to display to your audience. You also aren’t stuck with whichever choice you make, so don’t panic. You can go in and change your template as much as you want, as you try to find out which option suits your needs best.
At the end of the day, the services template may not be the right choice for all businesses, especially those that already take advantage of customizing their own tabs. But, seeing as this is a very trial-and-error business, it might not hurt to try it out.
